We carry hand crafted, heirloom quality, solid wood Amish furniture that's built to last generations. Our furniture is made of Oak, Quarter Sawn White Oak, Cherry and Maple.
We have many different furniture styles to choose from i.e Shaker, Mission Furniture, Heritage, Carlisle Shaker, Sleigh, Prairie Mission, Royal Mission and Shaker Hill as well as some very contemporary style furniture as well. At Amish Direct Furniture every order is a special because customization is what we excel at. Here are the ways we can customize your furniture:
Dining Room Tables
- Type of table: Leg, single pedestal, double pedestal or trestle
- Style of the legs, pedestals & feet
- Table top shape: Rectangular, round, oval, boat shaped, square, square round (rounded corners), scalloped, clipped corners and even octagonal
- Edge profile on the table top
- Number of leaves (up to 13 leaves in our large table section) and if they have skirts or not
- Self storing the leaves in the table
- Size of the table: from a 24" round in our smallest pub table to a 60" wide and 19 foot long dining room table. This obviously a very large dining table that requires a huge quantity of room.
- Height of the table: 30" (standard), 36" (counter height), 42" (pub height)
Dining Room Chairs
- Seat type: wood, cloth upholstered, microfiber upholstery, leather or you can even provide your own fabric
- Chair Style: mission, traditional post, traditional bow back, shaker and contemporary - modern
Case Goods: Hutches, buffets, dressers, chests, armoires, plasma TV stands, etc
- Style: Contemporary - Modern, Mission, Shaker & Traditional
- Drawer glides: Full extension poxy rollers, side mount full extension ball bearing, under mount full extension ball bearing. You can even add self closingand/or anti slam glides as well
- Glass: Plain, water, straw, smoked, bevel and on some models leaded glass
- Hardware: You can choose the standard hardware or pick something from our catalog. There may ba an upcharge for certain kinds
Finally the Amish have started designing modern furniture. We have the largest selection of modern style furniture available that the Amish make. With clean simple lines and the dark stains, like espresso, or black paint the modern furniture we have is well made and the perfect fit in any modern decor.
Our Oak and 1/4 Sawn Oak furniture has 20 different stains ranging from natural to dark Espresso, Cherry furniture is available in 7 stains and Maple furniture has 5 stains. Custom staining to match your existing pieces can also be done.
Amish oak furniture is the old standby. If the Amish are known for any type of furniture it's definately Amish oak furniture. The reason the Amish make so much furniture out of oak is that it is a very abundant wood that's stable and strong when kiln dried. As a matter of fact all the furniture the Amish make is available in oak.
Here are the standard features of our Amish Made Furniture
- Amish drawers boxes are made of a solid hardwoods that have true English Dovetail joints. The drawer front is actually attached to the box.
- The backs of all our case goods are constructed of 1/4 inch plywood that is recessed into the back so that it is flush . This saves both weight and cost. The furniture that has the plywood on the back can be made with solid wood instead.
- Kiln dried Northern Hardwoods are used in the manufacturing of our furniture.
- Some of our Amish furniture is constructed with High Quality furniture grade plywood on the side to prevent splitting, warping and cracking.
- Raised panels on the doors and side are a 5 piece solid wood construction.
- Dining Room Tables come standard with 1" thick solid wood tops. No particle board or veneers.
- Our chairs legs are attached with glue and screws or mortise and tenon construction
- A wide selection of stain and paint options including custom stain matches where needed.
- Amish furniture has 2 Coats of Resistovar II Finish.
